Space Needs and Planning

SNAP is the central point of contact for colleges, schools and other units on the Columbia campus to make space requests. The SNAP committee reviews requests, identifies possible solutions and make recommendations to the Advisory Committee on Finance and Budget, which makes the decision whether to grant the request.

Instructions for making a space request are provided below. If you wish to report a classroom problem, please see Classroom Enhancement and Scheduling.

Space Requests and Utilization Updates

Units interested in making a space request should complete the USC Space Request Form [pdf]. Please send the approved form to:

Facilities Planning, Design and Construction
Attention: Campus Space Manager
1300 Pickens Street
Columbia, SC 29208

Contact the Campus Space Manager Rick Jerald ([email protected]) to communicate all space use changes within area(s) currently allocated to your department. It is important to correctly report how space is used to help ensure that the university accurately reports space utilization as required by the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education.
