Step By Step Guide

USC Departments, non-profit, government, corporate and private organizations may submit a CEU program form to have instructional programs certified for University of South Carolina CEUs for a variety of educational and training purposes.

Step 1

Prepare and submit a CEU packet [pdf] to our office a minimum of 30 days before the begin date of the instructional program. Renewal requests for previously certified programs must be delivered to our office at least 14 days in advance of the program begin date. If submitting more than one CEU packet, please include the appropriate payment information for each individual program.

Optional

If you would like to use the university Blackboard Learning Management System, attach a Blackboard Access Request form [pdf] when submitting your CEU packet.

Step 2

Obtain Department Head or Dean Approval on form.

Step 3

We will review the CEU packet and let you know if we need additional information and the status of approval within 14 days of receipt of the completed CEU packet.

Step 4

Once we approve the CEU packet, we will establish an Activity Code for the course and provide you, the sponsor/provider, with a permanent record form for your participants, a CEU provider letter, and a packet submission form for submitting the completed packet within 14 days after the course end date.

Step 5

As the sponsor, you will conduct registration, instruction, and evaluation in accordance with the approved CEU packet. As the sponsor/provider, you are responsible for all aspects of the instructional program, including scheduling appropriate facilities, providing accommodations for persons with disabilities, etc. Our office can assist you with program coordination services.  Contact us at [email protected] for additional information.

Step 6

Within 14 days after the program end date, you will submit your completed course packet to our office, which will include a permanent record form for each participant signed by the participant and you or your designated sponsor representative. You will also send us payment of the balance of the program fee. Please note that all forms and payment must be submitted together in completed packet.

Step 7

We will then complete the program processing within 10 days of the receipt of the complete program packet. Documentation will be provided to you, and CEU documents will be mailed to successful participants as stipulated in the packet.

Step 8

If you elect to offer an identical instructional program in the future, an updated CEU packet and program fee must be submitted at least 14 days prior to offering the program indicating it is a renewal course. We will follow the same procedure outlined here. Yearly updates for all support documents are required for renewal courses.
