CEU Documentation
We can help you evaluate your program and establish, arrange and award continuing
education units for your participants. A continuing education unit (CEU) is a measure
of participation in an organized non-credit continuing education experience under
sponsorship by an appropriate authority, with instruction, direction, and evaluation
by qualified personnel.
CEUs have far-reaching benefits to you and your organization
Many industries require proof of continuing education for re-licensure. We work with
the Office of Institutional Assessment and Compliance and the Office of the Registrar
to record and report continuing education activity and official CEU activity for the
university. The university applies strict guidelines to ensure proper documentation
of all educationally based activities provided on behalf of the University of South
Carolina.
If you are considering whether to offer CEUs or a certificate as part of your program,
we are here to help you! We offer a number of professional education courses and certificate
programs and realize the time it takes to put together and manage a program. Let us
help you with registration and program coordination. Contact us at [email protected] and we will put together a customized proposal for you.
Our services may include:
- CEU and/or noncredit certificate approval and processing
- Registration of participants (mail, fax, or online)
- Fee collection and distribution
- Classroom or meeting space reservations
- Food/beverage services during on-site instruction
- Data entry of participants, completion, and noncredit transcript maintenance

materials
We define continuing education at the university
Understanding the difference between continuing education activity, CEUs and noncredit
certificate programs will help you determine the best fit for your program. The first
step is to learn what defines the different aspects of continuing education. Once
you are comfortable with the definitions, we can guide you step-by-step through the process of creating your program.
