Research
My lab studies novel mechanisms that contribute to vascular deterioration in cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, as well as aging. Current hypotheses include dysregulation in cellular recycling (autophagy) and energy sensing. Furthermore, we are interested in understanding the mechanisms by which therapeutic interventions such as exercise and caloric restriction reverse vascular dysfunction.
