I joined IHG in 2007 as a revenue management training consultant, and today I lead a remote-based team of senior training consultants who conduct field-based and virtual training workshops in the areas of hotel quality, food and beverage, revenue management, sales, systems, and leadership for all IHG affiliated properties and brands in the Americas region.
I get to travel the world and interact with different cultures, which is something I never dreamed I would do. I also work with an amazing group of hotel professionals who challenge me to be a better leader.
Being part of people’s careers is the most rewarding part of my job. I’ve met wonderful professionals in various stages of their careers and had the opportunity to watch them grow and evolve.
From the knowledge I gained, to the work experience I’ve applied throughout my career, to the connections with fellow alumni at IHG and throughout the industry — the University of South Carolina really made an impact on my career. The lifelong friendships I made are one of the most treasured parts of my college experience.
Build a strong network. You never know when the next opportunity will come your way.
