Ajay grew up in Florence, SC, and graduated from the South Carolina Honors College in 2020 with a Bachelors in Biological Sciences and minors in Chemistry, Spanish and Psychology. He then attended the Medical University of South Carolina expecting to become a physician. However, in his time in med school, the work he was most passionate about was restructuring curriculum and guiding students. With this realization, he decided to pursue a career path in higher education and received a Masters in Medical Sciences from MUSC.

The activities that bring him the most joy, Ajay says, are cooking overly complicated meals, drinking and making fancy coffee, spending time with his family and boyfriend, and relaxing on the couch with his dog Nico. During his time away from med school, he has been posting his food and coffee on Instagram and TikTok and hopes to open a coffee stand at Soda City to continue sharing his coffee recipes.
