Mustain Laboratory for Electrocatalysts and Fuels

Description: The goal of the Mustain Laboratory for Electrocatalysts and Fuels is to understand and control how materials behave in electrochemical systems. Our projects span several areas, including high-capacity materials for Li-ion batteries; catalysts and supports for proton exchange membrane and anion exchange membrane fuel cells and electrolyzers; electrochemical synthesis of fuels, electrochemical control of biological systems; the purposeful use of carbonates in low-temperature electrochemical systems, and the capture and utilization of carbon dioxide.
Area: Electrochemistry, batteries, fuel cells, fuels, catalysts, electrochemical engineering
