General Atomics Center for Transformational Nuclear Technologies

Description: The General Atomics Center explores new approaches to nuclear fuel systems, modeling and simulation of nuclear fuel behavior, and nuclear waste storage to meet future energy needs. Our researchers are leading efforts on molten salt nuclear fuels, developing thermodynamic databases understand reactor behavior, corrosion and safety. We’re developing nuclear waste forms to improve durability and cost of disposal of high-level nuclear waste. We work with public institutions, private companies, and policymakers, sharing nuclear technological discoveries.
