Committees

Volunteer to serve on committees and particpate in groups or forums to address challenges and opportunities that support the strategic priorities and goals of Student Affairs and Academic Support as well as the institution.

Annual Conference Planning Committee

The Annual Conference Planning Committee is composed of employees from offices and departments across Student Affairs and Academic Support. Together, they are responsible for planning and executing the divisions annual conference.  The Annual Conference Planning Committee application is currently closed. A call for committee members will take place in September 2024. 

Carolina Judicial Council

The Office of Student Conduct & Academic Integrity seeks staff members to serve on panels to decide on case outcomes involving conduct and academic integirty cases and deciding educational outcomes for students who have violated a code. Applications are due by Friday, August 30th. 

Healthy Campus Coalitions

Healthy Campus Coalitions consist of faculty, staff, students and community members who are passionate about working together to ensure the health and wellness of the entire Columbia campus community.

Professional Development Team

The Professional Development Team is composed of employees from offices and departments across Student Affairs and Academic Support. Together, they are responsible for developing initiatives and programs that meet the needs of staff at every career level. Professional Development Team members represent all units of the division and come from a variety of positions, knowledge areas and experiences. They typically serve two-year appointments. The Professional Development team application is currently closed. A call for new Professional Development team members will take place in March 2025.  

Staff Senate

The University of South Carolina Staff Senate serves as an open forum to facilitate communication and collaboration among university staff members. It also serves as an advisory committee to the university president, adding an essential voice to strategic conversations and decisions that support the goals of the institution.

Women's Leadership Institute

The Women's Leadership Institute (WLI) features workshops, interactive presentations and a networking luncheon centered on promoting greater awareness of the challenges and opportunities women face as they seek to achieve a work/life balance. There is also time for participants to informally network and collaborate with women across disciplines or even across institutions.
