To be issued a visa from any country, you will need a valid passport that does not expire for at least 3-4 months after your departure. Please apply for your passport as soon as possible, if you do not already have one. If you do not receive your passport in a timely manner, it may prevent your visa from processing in time for your departure.

· US passport holders and select non-US passport holders are not required to obtain a visa prior to arrival if staying under 6 months. However, starting on January 8th, 2025 all non-visa nationals [US passport holders and select non-US passport holders who will be studying in the UK for under 6 months without a visa] will be required to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) prior to entry to the UK. With the ETA, all non-visa nationals may enter and leave the UK freely at any time (within a 6 month period). You must obtain this prior to your first entry to the UK. The ETA costs £10 and can be obtained through the "UK ETA app", which can be downloaded from Google Play or the Apple App Store. Applicants will receive a decision within 3 business days. Students will need their current passport details, valid photo, and answer a set of questions to obtain an ETA. If you hold an EU or UK/Ireland passport, please contact the Education Abroad Office to determine your eligibiility to enter without the ETA. · US students studying for longer than 6 months will be required to apply and obtain a Student Visa (previously called Tier 4 student visa).
