Background

Cierra Pinckney began her career in public education as a high school career development specialist and later served as an enrollment coach for Midlands Technical College.  She started working for the University of South Carolina in 2022 for the Advising Center before transitioning to the College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management in July 2023 as an academic advisor. She enjoys assisting students as they navigate their journey to success, believing that success consists not just of good grades and steady progress towards graduation, but in a holistic sense of achievement.

As a native of Columbia, South Carolina, she obtained her Bachelor of Arts in public relations from Francis Marion University in 2018 and her Master of Public Administration from the University of South Carolina in 2023. She is a licensed Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF), the most notable national credential in the field of career development.

In her spare time, she enjoys singing, traveling, and escape rooms. Her singing talents were once featured live on Good Morning America!
