Background
Collin Crick is the assistant dean for enrollment management and professional development in the College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management. He oversees strategic enrollment efforts, undergraduate and graduate recruitment, student professional development programming, and fostering student leadership and engagement for HRSM students.
Crick has been recruiting, advising, and teaching students at the University of South Carolina for more than 26 years. Prior to joining the College of HRSM in 2008, Crick served six years as the director of student-athlete development in the USC Athletics Department. He was an academic advisor for two years in the USC Moore School of Business and spent three years as an admissions counselor for USC Undergraduate Admissions.
As a curriculum designer and instructor, Crick has assisted more than 9,000 students with the essential skills and confidence to achieve their career goals through active learning strategies in the Marnie Pearce Professionalism Seminar. He is a certified expert in personality and temperament training from True Colors International and business etiquette and international protocol from the Protocol School of Washington.
Crick develops student leadership opportunities through his support of more than 14 professional organizations in HRSM. In 2009, he created the HRSM Leadership Program (HRSM Ambassadors) now involving more than 100 students each year. In 2022, he founded the HRSM Community, a campus residential area for first-year students in HRSM.
Crick was named the 2022 recipient of the Dennis A. Pruitt Outstanding Advocate for First-Year Students Award that recognizes significate and extraordinary contributions to the development of first-year students at the University of South Carolina.
Crick is a native of South Carolina and a lifelong Gamecock. He received a master's degree in higher education administration from USC in 2004 and a bachelor's degree in psychology from USC in 1997. His wife, Betsy, is also a native of South Carolina and a graduate of the University of South Carolina. They have two daughters, Hailey and Rebecca.
