Bio

Wanda A. Hendricks taught undergraduate and graduate history courses on African Americans, African American women and the United States from 1865 to the present.  She retired in 2018 and has enjoyed broadening her research and writing on Black women.  In 2019 she traveled to Geneva, Switzerland to examine the World Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA) Archives for her biography of Madie Beatrice Hall Xuma, a southern born Black American woman who became one of the most significant gobal activists of the latter half of the twentieth century.
