Bio: Brent Meyers is a native South Carolinian who grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa. He returned to the United States to pursue higher education in 2015. His interests include Colonial and American Revolutionary History, Trans-Atlantic History, and Sub-Saharan African History. His master’s thesis, entitled “The Enemy of My Enemy is My Friend: George Washington and France” discusses what caused our founding father to reconcile and work together with France during the American Revolutionary War. Before attending the University of South Carolina, Brent taught in the South Carolina public school system.
